As you may be aware, the Illinois General Assembly has not passed a school funding bill. You can read more about the current state of school funding here (http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/illinois-governors-veto-jeopardize-school-funding/).

I want to assure you that our school year will start on time and that we have been prudent with the valuable resources you contribute to the district. We’ve built a reserve for emergency situations such as this in order to provide unimpeded educational services for all students in our community. The district could operate for more than half of the school year without receiving state monies and I believe this issue will be resolved prior to any operational disruptions.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the current school funding crisis, please feel free to contract me by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or by phone (815-732-5300).
