Frequently asked questions regarding our Foundations 4 Success Program:

Where will class be held?

Classes will be held at Oregon Elementary School.

How long will my child be in class every day?

Each student will be in class for 2.5 hours every day. Morning classes will be held from 8:35 am to 11:05 am and afternoon classes will be held from 12:35 pm to 3:05 pm. A light snack will be served during each class; snack calendars will be setup at Meet & Greet this fall.

How many days a week do students enrolled attend the FOUNDATIONS 4 SUCCESS preschool program?

Students will typically attend school five days each week. Students will follow the normal district school calendar.

What will my child learn?

The curriculum is “play-based,” allowing children to develop perseverance, curiosity, and questioning skills through daily activities and interaction. Self-management skills are crucial to assist in the development of kindergarten readiness. Families will also be expected to participate in some aspects of the program.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes. Is this program open to all 4-year-old children? Yes. We recommend, however, that students with special needs or those with identified risk factors that could affect their ability to learn continue to enroll in our long-standing and successful Early Childhood preschool program.

What is the cost of the program?

There are no school fees associated with the FOUNDATIONS 4 SUCCESS preschool program, but there may be minor expenses and supplies needed to be purchased by each student’s family.

Are there a limited number of spots?

Yes, there are 30 spots available for the fall 2017 classes. If there are more applicants than student openings, the district will select students using a lottery system and notify parents regarding the status of their child’s acceptance after the registration deadline.

What are the expectations for enrollment in this program? How do I apply?

We are excited to build a culture of family engagement; families will be engaged within the curriculum on a regular basis. Families will participate in volunteer opportunities. To monitor student's academic/social growth, gain family input of their child's experiences, and any other feedback to strengthen the program for student success through family engagement, quarterly surveys will be sent home. The online application will be open until the registration deadline.
